Señor Michael Sorrells is from Dallas, Texas and graduated from the University of North Texas where he received his bachelor’s degree in Spanish. During his time there, he was a member and president of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society; an organization dedicated to preserving the love of the Spanish language and culture. Before coming to Margaret M. Bloomfield High School, Sr. Sorrells served as a Spanish teacher for South Lake High School in St. Clair Shores (Michigan), KIPP Academy in the Bronx, Harlem Children's Zone Promise Academy II in Manhattan and taught Spanish at an International Baccalaureate school in Irving, Texas. He came to Bloomfield High School because he respects their mission and wanted to be part of the special work they do. Bloomfield truly believes that family, school and the community should work together to encourage the success of our children; Sr. Sorrells supports this concept because he recognizes the importance the support his family, friends, teachers and others has in his own life.
